I Like You
I like you—
But let that be very personal.
I like when you smile at my silly jokes,
And blush when I say you're cute.
The childlike amusement in your eyes,
When I say something from oblivion—
But let that be personal too.
For you can be so different,
Like I’ve never known.
Maybe, I like you
Above the becauses you’ve ever contemplated,
Far beyond the boundaries you imagined existed,
Maybe deeper than any forgetfulness can ever reach—
But let that be personal too.
For it takes an eternity, sometimes,
To reminisce the moments we lived,
To live it all again.
Yet the differences are so vast,
That we get lost in between,
Never living it ever again.
I like you, like those faraway stars,
Shining on my despair every time I look up,
Winking at my hopefulness,
When it is dark around.
But let that too remain personal—
For the stars can be too far to know
The wishes we make on Earth!!
